Frequently Asked Questions
What happens after I reserve my season pass?
Once you submit your reservation request, we'll review your property details and confirm your seasonal pricing. You'll then receive a service agreement by email to review and sign electronically, along with your payment options. Once your agreement is accepted, we'll arrange for driveway markers to be installed before the season begins.
Do I need to call when it snows?
No! Our service is automatic. When snowfall reaches approximately 5 cm+, we dispatch our equipment according to our established routes. There's no need to call or request service for each snowfall.
When do you come during storms?
We organize our routes to provide efficient, consistent service throughout Fredericton South. Our goal is to have an initial clearing completed early in the morning whenever conditions allow, but exact arrival times vary depending on snowfall timing, accumulation, road conditions, and the duration of the storm.
What if my car is in the driveway?
We'll clear the accessible portions of your driveway while avoiding parked vehicles. Once your vehicle has been moved, we may return to clear the remaining area when reasonably practicable. For the best results, please move vehicles whenever possible during scheduled clearing periods.
Do you clear city plow ridges?
Yes! Clearing snow ridges left at the end of your driveway by municipal roadway plows is included in your seasonal service. We schedule follow-up passes as needed. Snow left by municipal sidewalk plows is not included in our routine roadway-plow follow-up service.
What is the 5cm threshold?
Our standard dispatch threshold is approximately 5 cm of accumulated snowfall, based on our own local measurements and observations. We also consider weather conditions, forecasts, and the timing of snowfall when coordinating our routes.
What if it snows less than 5cm?
Snowfalls below our approximately 5 cm dispatch threshold do not normally trigger a service visit. However, we may provide additional clearing at our discretion when conditions warrant. Snowfalls can also accumulate over multiple periods before reaching the dispatch threshold.
How do service updates work?
We provide snow-event updates and service notifications to help keep customers informed about our operations. Updates may include dispatch information, route progress, or important service notices. Notification frequency and availability may vary depending on the storm and operating conditions.
What is the Cardinal Guarantee?
We stand behind our work. If you're dissatisfied with a service visit, contact us within 48 hours so we can review your concern and arrange an appropriate resolution where warranted. During ongoing or back-to-back storms, corrective work may need to be coordinated with our regular snow-clearing operations. Our full guarantee terms are outlined in the seasonal Terms of Service.
Where is your service area?
We currently provide seasonal driveway snowblowing throughout our designated service area in Fredericton South. Visit our Service Area page to view the coverage map and confirm whether your property is within our boundaries. If you're nearby but outside the area, feel free to contact us.
Do you offer single service visits?
No. Cardinal Snow exclusively provides seasonal driveway snowblowing. Our service relies on established routes and driveway markers installed at the beginning of the season, so we do not offer one-time or vacation snow-clearing services.
What are my payment options?
We accept credit cards, Interac e-Transfer, and cheques. Customers paying by credit card can choose to pay in full or select an available installment plan of up to four payments. Cheque and e-Transfer payments are due by November 1, 2026. All payment options and applicable due dates are provided with your service agreement.
Do you offer shoveling, salting, or sanding services?
No. Cardinal Snow specializes in residential driveway snowblowing using tractor-mounted equipment. Hand shoveling, walkway clearing, salting, and sanding are not included in our seasonal service.
What happens at end of season?
Our 2026–2027 season runs from November 1, 2026, through April 15, 2027. Once the season concludes, we'll collect our driveway markers and pickets from serviced properties. Existing customers will also receive information about renewing their seasonal pass ahead of the following winter.
What if I need my driveway cleared before morning?
Our routes are designed to provide timely service, with early-morning clearing a priority whenever conditions permit. While we cannot guarantee specific arrival times, customers with urgent clearing needs are welcome to contact us. We'll do our best to accommodate requests where reasonably possible without disrupting our scheduled routes.
What if the city plow comes after you've already cleared my driveway?
That's part of our seasonal service! When municipal roadway plows leave a new snow ridge across your driveway entrance after our initial clearing, we arrange follow-up passes as needed. These visits are coordinated with our regular routes and may not happen immediately after the plow passes. Municipal sidewalk-plow deposits are not included in routine follow-up service.
What if there's a large storm with multiple snowfall periods?
During large or prolonged storms, we may make multiple passes to keep driveways reasonably accessible as conditions permit. Clearing schedules and return visits are adjusted based on snowfall intensity, accumulation, road conditions, and operational safety. Final cleanup may take place once conditions improve and municipal roadway plowing progresses.
